The Crown Stoke by Nayland

The Crown is a lovely country inn in the sleepy village of Stoke by Nayland, Suffolk, which re-opened in late 2008 with a boutique hotel consisting of 11 rooms.

Stoke by Nayland is on the Essex/Suffolk borders, not far from Flatford Mill and the Denham Vale known as “Constable Country” after the famous painter.

All 11 rooms of the Crown are housed at the back of the property with wonderful views of the Suffolk countryside. Rooms are rated as standard, superior, deluxe and executive levels, and some of the better rooms come with French windows and their own patio.

The facilities in the rooms are excellent as you would expect with such a new property, flat screen tv, cable channels, air conditioning etc.

The Crown is known for its food, and breakfast does not disappoint! Fantastic full English produced from local ingredients, plus other healthier options should you wish.

The pub gets busy for lunch and dinner, so booking is advised. There is an excellent selection of starters and mains, especially the daily fish specials. The only downside is you have to order at the bar – not what you would expect from a restaurant serving such quality of food.

The Crown also comes with its own wine shop, ensuring the quality of wine on the menu is of a high standard.

This property is also a member of Chic Retreats
