Malaysia...

In early 2005 me and my best friend and travelling buddy Alec sat in a Brazilian eaterie in London's Islington area and thought about where our adventures would next take us.

Somehow we had got down to three destinations; Brazil, Argentina & Malaysia - and like the intelligent thoughtful men we are, we decided to toss a coin to let fate choose where it would take us.

Not only did the fickle finger of fate decide on Malaysia, but I think the excellent South American wine we were drinking somehow came up with the idea of climbing a mountain... so next up was Kota Kinabalu!
